In The Beginning Was the Word
Words Will Never Do is the title of my favorite song. I am trying it on for size as my tagline. The point? This website is full of words, and I know that words are an imperfect tool. It's too easy to misunderstand. Also, words that aren't backed up by lifestyle are meaningless from the start.
So why make a website full of words even though words will never do? Because even though words can't say all our hearts intend, they are a starting place. There's only been one perfect Word on this earth...Jesus. "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us." (John 1:14) Jesus was and is the Word of God. God sent him to us because even after all the words he had given us in the Old Testament, we still couldn't get it right. We needed something or someone that we could touch and see and hear. Someone who could set an example for us. Jesus is still God's Word to us: God sharing his truth with us, God saying, "I love you."
And that is ultimately my goal for this website. It is a collection place for the truth that I have found -Jesus loves me- and also for the new truths that he continues to teach me. God promises to share with us "great and unsearchable things that we do not know" (Jeremiah 33:3) if we simply ask him. My passion in life is to seek out those truths and then to share them with my family, my friends, and others that cross my path. With my family and friends I can use some words, but what I can't say, I must learn to show. In cyberspace, there is no oppportunity to show the truth, so for you... words will have to do.
